I cannot say enough about The Maine Diner. You are FANTASTIC. I was originally told to stay away because it was nothing more than a tourist trap. Well, we were tourists on Wed 7/14 and i was never so pleased and taken care of before. I only wish i could remember the name of the woman that served us at the counter that day. She was so nice. She told us that her husband had retired from the service if that helps. What a nice woman and friendly. Great food, I love this place and i will be back.

Maine is my very favorite place to visit, and the Maine Diner is my favorite place to eat. (you make the BEST blueberry pancakes and the best Mac & cheese. I try to get up there at least 4 - 5 times a year. Sometimes we will leave early in the morning, and arrive in time to have breakfast with you.3 weeks ago, My friend and I were in Maine for 3 days, and we ate 3 breakfasts and 2 dinners at the Maine Diner.(my husband is involved with the Kairos program that has a weekend retreat (thurs. PM 'til Sun. PM) for at least 20 prisoners at the Maine State Prison in Thomaston. While he is in prison, my best friend and I stay at Wells beach and frequent your Diner. (I have been there every year since you opened.) I am turning 79 in February and will probably spend my birthday in Maine, the good Lord willing! Thanks for the great food and the low prices!

I love the maine diner food. But the one thing that is more enjoyable than the food is the waitress with all the bracelets, Amy i believe. She has the power to turn a frown up-side down with her humorous, yet efficiant service. Once, i went into the restaurant and Amy happened to have a day off. Though the other waitresses are great, Amy is the best of the best. Whenever i am on vacation, i go to the maine diner just to see Amy. and even with me living in another state, she still remembers my name!! I love Amy!!

We were heading home to Connecticut from Freeport and asked at the Visitors' Center if there were any good diners on the way home. They sauid, well, there's the Maine Diner - we don't know how good it is, but they advertise a lot and they've been there a while...well we need to tell them that beyond a doubt it IS GREAT. The lobster pie was the best, as was the turkey and the mac'n'cheese...mmmm. Wait staff was great too. It's only four hours from home so I can see making a day trip just to have the lobster pie. Yes, it's that good!

Just a mention of the Maine Diner and and there's peace on earth! I'll never forget the first time we walked into the diner - it was a cold, rainy Sat. nite in early June '96 when we arrived in Wells with our 10 yr old daughter. We stumbled into the diner around 8:45 pm - filled our road weary selves with delicious food that gave us comfort. We were hooked. I am 23 years old and I have visited the Maine Diner every year of my life on the morning we would arrive for our yearly week/2 week vacation in Wells. We love the Maine Diner. The atmosphere is so welcoming. The staff is so friendly and the food is always delicious! We always make a point to eat there when we visit Maine. We never go home without buying some homemade mac & cheese and baked beans to take back to CT...fabulous!

I've been coming to the diner for several years. then I started bringing my mom. she was hooked after her 1st meal! Ray Thyng from Wells Maine actually turned us on. mom passed away 2yrs. ago and I haven't been able to get back into the good times mode. Unfortunately, Ray hasn't been well either. but, I plan on driving up this summer or this winter for the "early" XMAS festivities. Maine is the way life should be and everyone shouldn't be there without visiting your diner!!!
